All these solutions are great, but my focus was the most simple one and I'm adamant that my solution is the shortest one.

Well, some people can recognize a good piece of software when they see it, while others cannot.

I don't think it's good or something, I just meant it as a very quick and easy solution. However, I'll try the other ones. When I'm used to them, I'll surely use them.

BTW, NotePad creates ASCII files, I just tested it again. THat's why I didn't think much about what to use...

Just wanted to add that the standard in the Linux world for decades is GetText icw .po files (plain text).

I only use Windows, but maybe helpful. Everyone who want it can adapt it, if needed. First post changed and slightly enhanced.
