> PB, what did you do in the tv industry?

I put the movie channels to air for Optus Television (a Pay TV company
here in Australia). Optus merged with another company (Foxtel) and I
was made redundant with 250 other people. I did get another job almost
straight away afterwards, but I left because it paid far less than what I
was previously earning, and they abused my wife (who also worked with
me). I won't go into all the details, but I wasn't going to stay there after
the way they treated her. So we both left, went to the USA for a short
holiday (Disneyland was great!) and we've been back for a few months
now but I have no work yet. Fingers crossed again... :)

That's what I was suggesting earlier. I'm sure between us we could form a cracking design & development team. Any takers?

PS: Add UK to the list.

PPS: "Stone Soup" for anyone who hasn't heard the story... short version, guy goes round collecting "extras" (carrots, potatoes, etc) to prove he can make soup from a stone. Don't know what the original point was but I say the stone is just a seed (or focus point) to rally everyone.

well, we could all together this *awesome* os, that only needs 640k and... oh... sorry, i was dreaming for a moment...

seriously? i've been seriously looking into game development, but perhaps not as a programmer

the stuff i code myself is simply not good enough, one has to know his limits...

although concepts and execution together is what counts, and i believe there is a market for lower (read: cheap) games without the ultra cutting edge high end graphics, as long as gameplay is great...

ever played command and conqueror - red alert 2? see the point?
