"unusable" This is an exaggeration. This (excellent) function has been used very often since it was first introduced.
We are programmers, It is easy to create our own timeout ElapsedMilliseconds() and AddWindowTimer()

We do not need downplaying of valid criticism. Anyway it has been way too long to implement such a basic option.
