Yeah, it's OneNote and you can do all that. There's also an ink-to-math button you can use to convert formulas if you wanted to. I'm not that familiar with it yet, it's all new to me.

After using the Surface Pro for over a year now, it's clear that tablets just can't replace a good laptop or desktop. Regardless of the amount of power it packs, the form factor is just not conducive for serious work. Just for starters, it can't be properly lapped, the keyboard doesn't pack the same punch, and with such high resolutions, the view size is just not practical without maximum magnification.
Tablets are great, especially the Surface Pro, with its pen and handwriting recognition; but unless docked to a decent KVM, the form factor is only good for browsing and some light tasks.
Furthermore, with the Surface Pro 3, the pen now requires a battery and Bluetooth pairing in order to work, and it has lost its nifty magnetic home. To what advantage?
