There definitely is some sort of DOS attack going on. Started a bit
after SpiderBasic was announced.
I've noticed this, too.
I think the delays may also have to do with internet traffic generated by a big event around this same time (a.k.a. the Olympics).

Nope, because it's only these forums that are slow for me. Every other
international website that I visit are still fast and don't time out. Just
this one. Since SpiderBasic's announcement. I've been monitoring.
