Thanks for your comments ! BlueB has offered me to include his nice program into the main package sometimes ago and as always I said 'Yes' it's still not included :). Seems like I have to change that !

Fred,

It's a great idea to distribute the PureDemo program with PureBasic. It has lots of helpful information, but it really should be updated to work with PB 3.62. A number of the examples have to be changed or they will produce errors, and some of the compiled programs don't run correctly until you recompile them.

Thanks for the kind words fellas! :)

The program is just a simple app that shows new users 'simple' little
things to get them started. I know that's exactly what I need when I
see an unfamiliar language.

I'll re-vamp it for 3.62 this weekend and send it to Fred, if that's OK with you Fred?

PS - I tried to download it from the realmedia site from the link above and got the boot??? Don't know what's wrong.

May I suggest something?...

If this is included in the PB package (which is a good idea IMHO), it must be made sure that
the Sourccode is ALWAYS up to date with the newest PB Version.
It is bad, if you get a new Update, and the included examples don't work.

So, if that is ok for blueb, i think it would be the best to upload it to the CVS tree, so
it can always be tested/updated for the newest PB Version, before the releases.
Fred can give blueb access to the tree, too.

Just my 2 cents...

Timo

Great! I'm sure it will help newbies as well as those evaluating the program quite a bit! I know it helped me :)

I've been tinkering with Purebasic for the last couple nights and I am throughly loving it's speed and compactness. Looking forward to a long and happy relationship with the software :)

Timo,

No problem.

I'll try to re-work everything so that no 'special' libraries are
needed, etc. (just to keep it easy to maintain)

I don't have any experience with CVS tree (I looked around on it a
few weeks ago and got lost, but you'll have to forgive me...I'm old!)

I'll email it to Fred, he can look it over and add/modify it and place it on CVS and I can only try to keep it updated. I might need some help from you on how to access it though. :)
