As a side note:
Samsung stopped selling Windows/RT products in the US awhile ago and now they also announced to stop selling it in some big European countries.

The new Windows 8 user interface was especially designed for tablet-like devices, but it's not really selling :o

Now desktop/laptop/notebook/ultrabook buyers are stuck with an interface that is not even selling in the primary target market

In other words, it turned out exactly as everybody, but Microsoft, predicted.

This warms my heart!
I really want the Windows 8 sales to be poor, they deserve that.

Is it, really? I'd like to have some informed opinions as I'm tempted to buy the Surface Pro but I've no experience with Win8. The Surface Pro seems to be a pretty serious machine. Most of the reviews by people who've bought it say it's expensive but worth the price.

Since the surface supports the new "Start screen" tiled "touchscreen" layout, which is what most of the uninformed complain about for win8 on the desktop, I personally don't see how you could go wrong with one. BTW, the "lack" of the startmenu on a win 8 desktop is NO problem at all. Once you use it (the new layout), you'll find yourself appreciating it's simplicity.

The surface will undoubtedly be my next laptop purchase.

cheers

I was one of the lucky ones to buy 8 on the $14.99 loophole and it didn't take me long to get up to speed.

I am normally very slow to learn things for various reasons but I am having fun with the tiled layout and the desktop, equally at home on both.

And the new file manager is a very welcome addition.

Seems to be faster and more responsive than 7, all the applications that I am used to work fine.

Didn't get the $14.99 deal ($39.99), but yes +1

To be clear, I was only commenting on the RT version of 8.

Same here, I will buy a Surface Pro in June. (need to wait for extra money because I also need new PC and displays)

For the RT version, it would be enough for my wife.

Microsoft is making it's future visions become true. It is just the first step. :)

Surprise, surprise: Office EVERYWHERE is part of the vision! :)

It just became available as Office 365. Use it on all of your devices.

They make the visions become reality, just look! ;)

Why does it warm your heart? Why do you want Windows 8 sales to be poor? Why do they deserve "that"?

Did Bill Gates stand you up on a date or something? :)

I know I may sound crazy and maybe I am, so I don't want to spam this thread with all my negativity. But I can tell you that today at work a customer actually paid us 348 dollars just to downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7.

Ha! Just reminded me something. After playing with Win95 for a while, I was actually going back to MS DOS for another 2 or 3 years. :D

BTW: I don't use MS DOS anymore... ;)

Looking the future visions videos, I see a master plan and understand.
