If you click it it just says Google - 500 - That's an error.

I don't think it really ends with the period, there's more after that that's been truncated.

Hmm... Link works 100% fine when left clicking on it or right clicking and selecting open in a new tab, etc.

The forum software shortens long urls in what is displayed, but the actual URL is still used when clicking on the link. Hovering your mouse pointer over the URL should show the complete URL in the status bar of your browser, so you can verify that it is indeed legit.

netmaestro,

The links work fine from my browser. It hasn't been truncated. Ended my sentence with a period (a habit).

When I click the link this is what I get. There seems to be not a period on the end of the url:

I'm using IE8, maybe it'll work in something else.

Not sure what the issue is for him as the period he mentioned isn't even part of the URL or the hyperlinked text. The period is after the hyperlinked text. Even copying and pasting the URL into the address bar works. I have tested in four different browsers.

The only way I can somewhat replicate what he mentions is to copy and paste the displayed text into the address bar, but that gives a 404 not a 500 and nobody would be using that method to visit a url.

Wacky issue.

I've been using IE8 for usual browsing, there seems to be some problem with it and this link. I tried the link in CometBird and all is well. Thanks for looking at it :D (friggin' microsoft...)

The 500 Internal Server Error, also called an HTTP 500 error, is a generic error suggesting a problem with the website's server - best bet - try again later ;)

Works here in IE8.

Perhaps your IP (or IP range) is being blocked by Google? Use one of the free proxies like http://hidemyass.com to visit the url and see if the page will load.

In IE8 with my ass hidden it works

I've learned 2 things here:

1) I have an ass
2) It's a problem

Cometbird is pretty good. It's part of the BitComet offering. One thing I like is if you have BitComet installed as a BT client you can download almost any video from any site using Cometbird. Also it has completely private browsing, but I guess most modern browsers have that now.

Thanks for the info. I will download it and give it a try. I am very fond of QTWeb, but CometBird looks very nice, too.
