Pretty neat. It doesn't feel "correct" that you can't jump while moving though.. I don't know if that is by design or a bug with your keypress detection.

I think it would look better if you had an earth-tone for the below ground texture though. It kind of makes things feel a little off, since the character is the same color.

Thank you. the keyboard situation will be fixed. if you use joypad for playing you will not encounter this problem. for the coloring/gamedesign: I like this style and think it "feels right" for "Beeni" :D

Yeah, nice work!

Some things to add/change/enhance : I have a joystick but I'm often trying to use keyboard by default, and the game didn't let me choose. It would be nicer to switch left/right image directly, not after a little time. It would be funnier to add some inertia in start/stop move : just add a new variable to alter speed. And finally, the jump could be better, in fact the fall is a bit too slow.

Keep going, it's great! :)

Hello again! and now something completely different........

first "Beeni" made many changes:
Graphics: more eyecandy and relaxing colours.
Gameplay: 4 Levels including "boss" level, highscore (basic implemention)
special weapon: "bomb" active with keybaord or joypad (B), if special weapon is active.

System requirements:
Intel/AMD 2GHz, 512 (1GB) RAM, 128 (256) MB 3D graphicscard. 9MB free harddiskspace. Windows XP/Vista/7
Desktopresolution 1024x768 (minimum) up to 1680x1050 recommended, you do not need to change any resolution, "LUCY" Engine uses your desktop resolution, and tries to scale everything to your desktop resolution. none 16:9(10) screens/resolutions will face letterbox output.
joypad recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (keyboard is working, but its not that gameplay-feeling)
if you want to use joypad/gamepad, please connect it to your pc-set and start "BEENi"

this may be the last demo-feedback-release, please feel free to download actual version:

todo/coming next:
more maps
more enemies
gameplayimproovements
engineimproovements.

thank you.

Thank you!
I am surprised, that my first attempt of programming a multipurpose gameengine works fine, because there are so many, bugs in the background...
thats why I am working on an improved version of this engine, including better object and memoryhandling, more possibilities...and much more to come..

here you can download some other games made/using the "old" engine, maybe you encounter some bugs in the gameplay or maybe not.
