I'm not a shooter, but had a natural talent for target shooting in the military, and that was quite
fun, but..
I don't use a gun for target practise now, and never will, and to me, the only reason to actually use
one is to kill something in a life or death situation, either it, them or me, nothing else.
Too often 'shooters' sits on their asses popping off birds or their neigbours cats, or just kills animals for fun while pretending to be 'hunters/predators', so this thread makes me uneasy.

That sounds more like teenagers. Grown people don't do that, that I know of.
I shot about 1500 shots today, fine tuning my scope, on paper targets.

Did you notice my Avatar?
Seriously, two years ago, I happened to listen into a conversation between some shop assistants in
a Sweedish sports outlet that sells hunting equipment.
One of them had been out hunting, and suddenly discovered a red fox 15m's in front of him. He fired at
the fox with his shotgun, (of course, die animal, die!)
But the fox didn't die, it was only wounded, so he ran towards it, and kicked the fox in the face with his
right boot to kill it off!
Big laugh!!! And they weren't exactly teenagers either.
The shop they work in sell airguns to teenagers, and they target practise on animals. Later on, they
become hunters, and have fun with stories like the one above.
And I hate them all.

Please don't distress your mind
[our global mind] with hatred ~ better try to wish them all best on their way.

@utopiomania: Individuals of that sort are evil. Their cruel choices precede their choice of weapon. The disturbing act mentioned was performed with a gun and a boot. It could of also been done with a knife, a rock, or even a car or motorcycle. I have heard of poachers hunting using a car as the weapon.
I second Vera's suggestion to not become distress with hatred. If what they is illegal, bring them to justice. If it's not illegal better to hope for their 'rehabilitation' and wish them well on coming to their senses.
Back to the topic, I shoot a variety of handguns, and rifles (including shotguns and assault rifles) for target practice. I occasionally use a Remington Model 700 rifle and .30-06 rounds for hunting deer.

Did you ever think about going to the army to work as a sniper with this gun?
I do not have any guns at home, I would like to have one for some annoying neighbors....
so, I only shoot in games, like call of duty, half life and crysis.
