I did not mention anybody in a negative way. I said I was confused as to which forum I was on until I checked the url.

However, if you want to edit posts, there are a ton on this forum that do mention that person in a negative way

Don't make this to a big issue.

If you want to donate even if you have payed for a product with free updates please do so.
My reason to donate was to show that i really had use for a working lib on both Linux and Winblows. I didn't have to but it was a gift from me to tell that i really did like this upgrade.

If you don't want to donate money then don't but please "donate" some positive feedback to the developers and the beta testers. Without feedback nothing is going to change and why should there be any upgrades then?

Kuron wrote:So you do not want customers who would pay for your product and use it under the terms agreed to at the time of sale? Instead you would prefer to have customers you can guilt or strong arm into "donations" for future releases. That almost sounds like the "protection" racket:

"Hey, just because you bought my product that means nothing. You better show some more "appreciation" or I am coming after you with a baseball bat."
No, It's all about his attitude. I couldn't care less whether he donates to Fred and the PB team or not, that's his choice. But, to go out and tell everyone else not to donate, to me, shows a complete lack of respect to Fred and the PB team nor any consideration for the hard work they do to make PureBasic the quality product it is.

To me his whole message spoke of self centered selfishness and that is the kind of person I'd rather not deal with given a choice.

GWarner: That is what I figured. I was being facetious in an attempt to bring some much needed levity.

I agree about telling people not to donate. To me a person should handle donations to PB like donating to a charity. To donate or not should be between the individual and PB, along with the amount donated.

Sorry, sometimes that can be hard to detect in Internet forums.

You're right it has, and IIRC they all ended pretty much the same way, somebody comes on and posts an unnecessary really negative message like you did and the thread fizzles away.

Next time try this: If you don't have something nice to say, try not saying anything at all.

I planned to donate to PureBasic after I found out how stable it is for Mac. I've been using it about 5 months since purchasing and IT IS GREAT~
Now, I can not find a place to Donate. Where is the link?
Thanks, St. Paul

GWarner, FYI, I ended up with a bloody nose after suggesting to them that the 'free upgrades forever' policy is
NOT a good idea, so I just payed for my copy, and thats it.

I will not donate to them. To me a 'Donate' button is a warning sign if found on a commercial software site.

Yeah, you already said this a couple of times and even in this thread some posts before...

It's as easy as this: If you don't want to donate then don't do it, if others want to support the developers let them do it.
So where exactly is your problem?

My problem is that I think that a company that suddenly sit on the net with their hand out and ask me to
give them some money will go away soon.

Theyr business model is wrong IMHO. Also, all I said was, I will not donate money to them. Just facts. If GM sold
me a truck and asked me to donate afterwards, I would have dumped them and bought a Toyota instead.

Simple as that, so what's your problem?

I paid for my copy, and I would have paid for major upgrades, but I can't because that is not the way they do
busines, so I will not donate.

Going really off topic.
