I have downloaded 186 Mbs of the forums so far.. Don't know if forums search will work though, probably not.
I've already got EasyPHP installed for PHP stuff so it's not much of a hassle, I think a posting of the actual DB (minus any confidential infoFred wrote:Please don't do this, it's useless and put heavy load on servers. No need to strip everything, just remove pm's, maybe make all user profile/board options the same and remove passwords for everyone except for 1 user, only have posts from certain sections and it'll be a decent dump.freak wrote:After stripping out every piece of user related data it won't be a functioning forum dump anymore.
Whats with the paranoia of having to "own" a copy of everything anyway? Are you so afraid the forum won't be here anymore tomorrow?
The forum's not with me on the train to/from work, is it? That's when I need it the most, during that long dead travel time. Or for a three-hour plane trip to another state. Just showing you that an offline version does have merits, and that it's not a useless idea.freak wrote:Are you so afraid the forum won't be here anymore tomorrow?
I would convert it to an SQLite database, of course.Fred wrote:Please don't do this, it's useless and put heavy load on servers. ...but if Fred`s asking for donations for the wedding for his daughter, we`re allowed to be afraid, that this could happenfreak wrote:Are you so afraid the forum won't be here anymore tomorrow?
