Well, really one is spoilt for choice.

What features should the name have, and what should it do (besides identifying your company, of course)?
It should be easy to remember by new customers.
It should give customers a positive feeling.

Many people love animals. So e.g. say "Dolphin Printing" wouldn't be bad, although it is nothing special. Or maybe there is an animal in the coat of arms of your city? Here in Berlin, "Bear Printing" would be fine. :-) Or something more general with positive and modern associations:
  • NanoPrint
  • MegaPrint
  • etc.
What is the main advantage that your customers get? What is the main difference between your company and the competitors? You can express these points in the name, e.g.
  • outstanding quality => Precise Printing
  • get the job done quickly => TurboPrint
  • versatility => FlexPrint

Thank you Fred. I appreciate you taking the time to stop by with your kind words. 8)
I'd rather be coding for a living but that just isn't in the cards. :(

@Little John: You echo everything I have learned in regards to business naming. Your examples are right on target. We are more quality oriented as opposed to being speedy. We also do our best to meet deadlines that are out of our normal turnaround time. Burning the midnight oil is not out of the question.

As for animals, I began by trying to incorporate a dog into the name because my dog comes to work with me and (most) customers have fun with him. I just couldn't come up with the right words:

Top Dog
Happy Dog
Loyal Dog
Sleepy Dog
Smart Dog
...
...

The other problem I have is matching a business name with available domain names. Naturaly, all the good .com's are taken.

I just tried to find a link between your good quality printing and your dog: What might both have in common? The word "true" occured to me. Well, of course I'm not sure whether that really makes sense in the ears of a native speaker.

So what about "TruePrint"?
That sounds trustworthy and like high quality. When people hear that they also might think of "true color" -- that's fine. And it is a pun with "blueprint". :-)

the only thoughts that enter my mind over dogs and printing is "see spot run, run spot run"

My first idea was "Black Paw". :-)

Thank you Berikco :)

One other point I need to make is that the average consumer must be able to understand what type of printing I do. TruePrint is good, but print what? I'd like the name to somehow make the distinction between traditional paper printing and screen printing. True Screen Printing doesn't work for me but, True Imprints has a chance.

I'm drawing a blank for now Sparkie, I can't seem to come up with anything better than what's here so far. But I'd like to wish you every success in your venture, you surely deserve it. And I believe you're just the man that can make it happen.

Names need to stand out, no need to have a relation with the business itself.

For example...

- Apple
- Google
- Coca Cola
- RottenTomatoes

:-)

Pick something that people will frown at, but remember. If you're desperate to include a dog's name, and you want everyone to remember your company, use a pink pawprint, and call your company PinkPuppy ;-) Unfortunately that one is already taken...

As a customer, I find "True Screen Printing" to be more descriptive than just "True Imprints". To me, a neutral third-party customer looking for a screen printer, the name "True Imprints" doesn't say anything to me. It just makes me think it's something to do with making imprints in clay or something. Also, a customer web search for "screen printers" won't give any hits with "True Imprints".
