Hi ricardo, maybe it will help you track the bug to know that I can replicate the complete system freeze up by opening your Visual IDE, and then immediately pressing the 'show selected window' button. This is before I add any components to the form, etc.
Everything freezes and nothing will unfreeze the system. Something like this sounds very suspiciously like an API call gone awry.
Take care.

Yes, thats really true! Btw how to save/generate a pb source code? When i startet it the first time i founded a *.pb file but since this it seems that it will not create any *.pb file until now!? Maybe a bug!?
@ ricado
Keep on this great work... If this tool can handle some more things in future and works without to many bugs i will use it in future for my projects i think! Really great tool!

If you push the execute button the pb file will be created.

Espectacular Ricardo!
Felicitaciones.

Answer with multilingual translation : )
Saludos.

Thank you ricardo! Did you fix the show selected window bug? If not, I want you to know that it now works for me. I did something different. I uninstalled the Visual IDE first (the old one) this time. Then made sure I manually erased any extra files in the PureBasic root directory. Lastly I dropped your new IDE into that folder. Now it works without a system freeze up.
So either you fixed it, or else it is important that people need to unistall and clean out their route directory before placing the new IDE there.

Hi Ricardo,
It looks great but if you try to resize the window it jumps down off the curser and you can never actualy move the window around.

Hi,
Which window?
I just open the Visual IDE and resize the window1 with no problem.
Anybody else find this problem that pusztry found?
Best Regards
Ricardo

Just an update. I was meaning exactly what you did. 'Window1'
Next I was on windows 2000 SP3. Can somebody confirm it on there Windows 2000 SP3 machine?
Also when I got home I tried one computer with windows XP and it was giving me an error in the comcnt32.ocx so I went to msdn and downloaded the latest runtimes but still know luck.
From there I took it to my main machine (a WinXP, PIII 800 MHz, 512MB RAM, SB Live 5.1, NVidia TNT 2 Ultra) and everything worked great with the dragging the window1 around.

Hi Ricardo,
I understand what pusztry means. I also think I can help you narrow down the problem very closely (see my OS and specs from the pervious message). What is happening is this:
A person opens up the IDE. A new Window is created automatically named "PureBasic Visual Ide - Version 2.00.1 Created By Super Cool Ricardo". This window has its x and y attributes set to an apparent 0,0. Inside this working window is another project window named "Window1".
Now, when I try to resize that Window1, or move it around using its title bar, the window will suddenly snap several pixels downward. I am still moving it or resizing it, but the y coordinates of Window1 are not corresponding with the y coordinates of the mouse cursor while the moving or resizing action is being taken. I have seen this many times through experience with multimedia design and programming. The problem is a simple one to solve. What is happening is that the y coordinates of Window1 are in relation to the window it is in, and not to the relation of the main IDE itself. So at the start up positions, Window1 will be mouseCursor_y + ""PureBasic Visual Ide..."_y. This makes Window1 pop down about 240 pixels while being resized or moved. If you move the "PureBasic Visual Ide..." window so that its x and y coordinates are 100,100, then Window1 will of course now pop down approximately 340 pixels offset.
All that is needed is to set the y coordinates of Window1 (while being moved or resized) to the same relative y coordinates of the mouse cursor. The x coordinates seem to be set fine already.
Am I confusing? I hope I was able to help you some.
Take care!

Hint: The last time I had a similar problem was when I was using PB and some WinAPI calls. I realized that one of my API calls was finding the x,y coordinates as they related to the application window and NOT the client area. (oops!)

I used the wrong function. That of course meant it was taking into consideration the pixels of the menu bar also and throwing the mouse tracking off.
Take care.
