I'm unsure how the vertices list are stored, though it's possible to modify realtime the geometry anyway, dunno with Ogre though :)
If you want to modify someting on terrains it must be done through Purebasic commands, if they exist ;)

Vertex Shaders can access the terrain vertex data, AFAIK.

I discuss this with Fred in pre-alpha, it's on the to-do list, but only for a future release.
