Micko, I have been working on this and it will take some time. I may be able to have something for you this weekend. :)

Wow, you accept requests? Cool!

Just say what you want and Sparkie codes it for you even if it takes several days. For free!

I want the ComboBoxGadget to display thumbnails if a directory contains images. Already got a deadline when it's done? I'm in a hurry! Image

What you are trying to say? You want to make the bill in Sparkie's place ? Send me yours I will resolve it :P . I think many of the people of this forum are friendly like you (even if you tend to be sometimes vicious :D )

Thanks Sparkie you are my Big Boss :D

Here's what I have accomplished so far. http://www.heysparkie.com/Apps/spCombo.exe

I'm still working on it and when it's finished, I will most likely make it available as a user lib with source included.

I tested on XP and Vista with no problems. Win2k users....please let me know what your results are. 8)

Nice work so far, Sparkie.

One small thing, if you click on the gadget to activate it and then press the down arrow to try to scroll through the list then as soon as any item is highligted it opens the main screen, it seems like the keyboard navigation isn't quite working.

Thanks Derek :)

That's pretty much normal behavior for a ComboBox. The problem is more due to the fact that I wasn't able to reuse the same Explorer window with each selection change. I have since overcome that issue and will update the sample app sometime tomorrow. 8)

Sparkie: Your icons looks poorly scaled down instead of true 16x16 pixel ones.

Thanks Trond. :)

Fixed for next test app.

Here's an updated version. http://www.heysparkie.com/Apps/spCombo2.exe

Icon issue fixed and it no longer uses separate Explorer windows for each selection. Tested on XP and Vista

wawawa can I have a copy? :D It's excellent so far and I can think of many uses for this.

I once tried using a webgadget but if the security settings were high you couldn't list anything at all :(
