Tested PB4.1 compiled EXE with following protector

PECompact
Armadillo(SoftwarePassport)
Obsidium
Themida

They worked perfect.

Throw old exe protector and try something new and better.

well, keep in mind that "protectors" which are serial number based for morphing, encrypting ot VM-ing your code can easily be foiled, if you dont use some form of hardware locking....as only serial needs to be distributed fo unlocking your program

leaf wrote:Brice: you have heard of execrypotr having troubles elsewhere? Any info? I suppose it might be very difficult to reliably 'morph' code from all languages. I looked at Setisofts 'private Exe protector' but this is only one simple homepage with a little paragraph. It basically said: "yeah, we got a code-morpher here, so send us $120 to Russia..."
You seem convinced that EXECryptor is the best. If this is the way you feel, then you need to find a different language that supports EXECryptor's limited interpretation of the PE format.

Myself and others have suggested alternative products that actually work with PureBasic. But since you feel so strongly that EXECryptor is the best you can find even though it does not properly support the PE format and does not work with your language of choice, there is nothing myself or others can do or say to help at this point, other than to reaffirm the problem is with EXECryptor, not PB.
It didn't work with Vista for a long time
IIRC, disabling SoftIce detection would usually fix the Vista compatibility problem.

Execryptor now out of business?????

MrMat: not so surprising that your post was removed from the execryptor forum. They seem to be removing anything that might be controversial. And they don't respond to anyone. The 'whois' of their site reveals a british columbia official address, and a paris france home. But the phone number is in the Ukraine [south of the former Soviets]. I called that number, - it is defunct. Googling for other comments and forums, I found such as: "Don't buy it. Very very bad assistance here, the product has problems and I haven't received answers from the assistance for last 4 months. I wasted my time and money with execryptor!-- Posted by Stefano on Thursday, April 19, 2007"
So maybe the company is now defunct or finished. Yes, there are plenty of other protectors, - but they can all be easily cut out by hackers using memory dump.
