Well, I for one am looking forward to the next release... Fortunately, my wish list is just minor...
You see, for starters I just want to fix some basics, such as ROL and ROR as standard PureBasic primitives. Then, of course, as the first real dish I'd love to have some additional sound commands. I mean, like IsSoundPlaying, and perhaps a 'PrepareSound / StartSound' block, so that one can preload multiple sound commands and execute them at the same time. Mmmm. As the main vourse... how about a little Set3DSoundPosition with perhaps a touch of EAX, that sounds about right. As a desert I'd take some improved 2D (though, to be honest, I haven't sampled all the options yet). Then, afterwards, a nice little 3D engine.
Next week would be fine.

EAX will no longer work with the current sound system in PB. Microsoft dropped hardware accelerated support for DirectSound/DirectSound3D. EAX was merely a wrapper for DSD3D and relied on the hardware acceleration.
EAX now wraps and depends on OpenAL which is an alternative to DirectSound and supports hardware acceleration. I believe there is an OpenAL lib or wrapper at PureArea.

or how about using
http://www.ambiera.com/irrklang/index.html
as Soundlib ( especially nice with crossplatform 3d-sound support with reverb and all nice toys ).
I am sure Niko would be willing to talk about that
Well sooner or later well have it all in the irrlichtwrapper - but if one just needs sound - this could be a bit fat package.

Is this the right area?

HoffBasic is currently mired down in a beer.net conversion nightmare.

Baldrick... I am sorry to say that the Beer.net is one of those Mickey's Widemouth Malt Lager issues... We thought it was a subset of beer.net (ie: cerveza.neto) but no!
It is much worse than that.
This beer would not even qualify for Soft Drink status in Europe or OZ!

We sent a sample to the Texas Medical Labs and they sent back: "Your Rabbit is Diabetic"
Mickey's got me through college since it was nearly the cheapest beer sold... other than GENERIC BEER.
I plan on drinking lots of GENERIC BEER until PB4.2 comes out!
