Hmm.... Some nice programs there, but....

I use DreamWeaver...

Of course it isn't free or even cheap...

But for building and maintaining web sites, nothing beats it IMHO

just learn html, it's not so hard, you'll save yourself some money and nerves and the world some ugly autogenerated bad html code
I use vi or elVIs, but having just downloaded VIM will use that on Windows platforms. IMO, learn simple HTML and complex Style sheets, dont bother with Website authoring software (unless you want a templated site that looks like countless others).

IMO HTML & CSS are considerably easier to learn than an application to do something comparable...

For professional work, Dreamweaver is the best choice, plus a good text editor like Ultraedit; add flash and Photoshop/Imageready to go further, and some video tools.

I was working like that, before the CMS. Now, I've tried Concrete, and it's terrific. Give it a look ;)

Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 is my favorite. It's lighter and faster since before Adobe bought them out.

A program can't make a professional website unless you design one
Not entirely true, i've been developing this program for quite some time:

http://www.kalekold.net/portfolio/blackfoot/

which creates websites like this:

http://www.kalekold.net/portfolio/generated/

Still needs work though but i'm getting there.

:P

P.S. Dreamweaver is for novices.
