Joakim:
Very nice and useful program!
You have a PM with a Spanish translation.
Cheers

Thanks for the translations. And btw, I didn't know that Japanese could work since I didn't do any unicode support at the moment.
New Language Serach, Website error
Yes, I can't do everything at once, but I will get that part of the website up and running soon. :)

And about your advices, I do agree (will look into it).
And hey, thanks for the translation of the websites :D

But please note that they where done very quick just to get something up there; so I may change the content a little in the next days.

And btw, I see that I might have to make bigger room for some of the text strings in my program to make it easier for translations (let me know if any of you feel this is important).

Btw...

I haven't included support for QuickTime streams at the moment, since I didn't find any QT player code that would resize inside my WebGadget. But if anyone know how to do this please let me know.

And with this new PureDispHelper thingy I should be able to control the media players through that! But I then need some examples for using WMP, RP and QT with it then.

Yeah, now it's okay that people write about it, but when it was a alpha version I didn't want it to be spread too much.

O.k., here we go:
  • -I updated a channel-url, but after klicking "submit" this channel still had wrong data (should be at least on my local PC directly changed). I had to press "Update channel list" to get the new data. (Well after that i had this channel duplicate... strange)
-When flagging a channel as "Duplicate" i want to see the icon also (at least at my own machine, till i reupdate my channel list.
-Whenever i restart it, i have to change the channellistview to my prefered language. Should be saved.
-Autoupdate is nice! But if you use another language it will reset to english, because some phrases are missing. Maybe just use a dummyword instead, like [NoTranslation], so the user still can use his language, but knows, that he has to update it soon.
Thats it for now.

You will not get the new data by updating the list before it has been reviewed by a moderator. And if you then after updating found a duplicate of that channel then there must be another user that has posted a duplicate of it.

The reason I don't change it locally is because it might confuse the user if he posted a update and then after downloading the list again it disappeared (because it hasn't been accepted by a moderator yet). But I can easily change this if you really think it's important.

I've been thinking about that, I'll see if I can do this without making a mess in my code.

What are you talking about? The language you use is saved and used each time you start the program (at least on the computers I tested).

I don't know why it resets the language to English after a autoupdate, that must be a very weird bug.

Thanks for taking your time and commenting! :)

EDIT:
After thinking about this I can confirm that I will make all changes to the list available locally, before you update the list.

The GUI-Language is saved, but not the prefered-channels-language, it always starts with "all languages" (at least here).

Happened after last update, i thought, that you maybe somehow count the phrases in the language-file, and if the number doesn't match you reset to english ?

New in beta 4:
Changes to the list is also stored locally
Subscribe to adult content (50+ channels)
Bug fixes

Hope I didn't include any bugs...

Basically my program just got commercial now, since people now can buy subscriptions. Maybe a screenshot should be added here then: http://www.purebasic.com/screenshots.php3
:D

Are you sure it's legal to charge people monthly to view streams that you are obviously getting for free? Or are you gonna try the "loophole approach'?

Sure it is. He is providing a platform to deliver it :)

So I can write a program called "c-span" and charge people $10 a month to watch c-span from their pc? Dang.. If I knew I could resell free services without people knowing it was originally free, I would have been rich a LOOONG time ago..

I thought when you charge monthly for something like this, I thought you have to explicitly say that the monthly fees are for program maintenance.

Ie..
Legal: $15 a month so I can continue to maintain this great program:
Illegal: $15 dollars a month to tap into free adult stations without permission.

I'm may be wrong about the legal part, but you still may risk other problems down the road, unless you figure out a better way of wording it (like the pros) :P

That would be abit different. Then you would be targeting that channel specially. Different rules there I think.

What Joakim is offering is a platform to deliver free content. He can charge users for that if he wants.
