Who cares if they have different faiths. If they want to marry, let them marry. And if their parents do not approve because of RELIGION, well... you may not be able to pick your friends but not your family (excluding your spouse, that is :-))...

Here in Germany your could get married in a registry office but not recieve the Lutheran Church's blessing for your marriage
Same as in Sweden. Which just proves my point.
they don't want the model of a partnership between husband and wife to get lost.
What a frail thing the heterosexual marriage must be if is threatened by the love between two people...
But: Lutheran Church will no discriminate against you and - which is even more important - will bless you and your partner as human beings; not your partnership.
What a load of crap! That IS discrimination! In the name of religion! Look at it this way, if you exchange gay for colored people, would it be racism? If yes, then you're on a very slippery slope trying to justify your position.

Then again, there are still preachers telling us that colored people aren't worth anything and should have no rights at all. And some say the same about women. And some "just" say white and colored shouldn't be mixed. I'm sure you find all of them not discriminating, right? No? Then you need to rethink your position again. It's not long ago that the church actually stood for those values...

politics, religion, and football , shouldn't be debated here , no agreement will ever be reached. your friend should read all he can about the matter , then make the decision him self.

And btw from a Biology point of view mixed marriages are better for the children than non mixed marriages since the probability of different alleles for the same gen is higher and therefor the probability for hereditary diseases is lower.

From Wikipedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam
Section (Islam and other religions)
According to Islamic doctrine, Islam was the primordial religion of mankind, professed by Adam.[91][clarify] At some point, a religious split occurred, and God began sending prophets to bring his revelations to the people.[92] In this view, Abraham, Moses, Hebrew prophets, and Jesus were all prophets of Islam, but their message and the texts of the Torah and the Gospels were corrupted by Jews and Christians. Similarly, children of non-Muslim families are born Muslims, but are converted to another faith by their parents.[93]

Islam maintains a hierarchy of religions wherein it occupies the uppermost place followed, in descending order, by Christianity, Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and polytheism.[94][clarify] This idea of Islamic supremacy is encapsulated in the formula "Islam is exalted and nothing is exalted above it."[95] Accordingly, Muslims are not allowed to place themselves in a position inferior to that of the followers of other religions.[96] Pursuant to this principle, Muslim women may not marry non-Muslim men, non-Muslims may not inherit from their Muslim relatives, and a testimony of a non-Muslim is inadmissible against a Muslim.[97] A non-Muslim who insults Islam must be put to death, according to most schools of Islamic jurisprudence, or flogged and imprisoned, according to others.[98]

Islamic law divides non-Muslims into several categories, depending on their relation with the Islamic state. Those who live under Islamic rule are known as dhimmis; they must pay tribute to the Islamic state, and as such receive permanent protection. They are permitted to practice their religion to a certain extent, and to enjoy a measure of communal autonomy.[99] Dhimmis are subject to legal and social restrictions as well as humiliating regulations meant to highlight the inferiority of non-Muslim subjects.[100] Those who live in non-Muslim lands (dar al-Harb) are known as harbis, and upon entering into an alliance with the Muslim state become known as ahl al-ahd. Those who receive a guarantee of safety while residing temporarily in Muslim lands are known as ahl al-amān. Their legal position is similar to that of the dhimmi except that they are not required to pay the jizya. The people of armistice (ahl al-hudna) are those who live outside of Muslim territory and agree to refrain from attacking the Muslims.[101][102] Apostasy is prohibited. A Muslim man who converts to another religion must be executed, while a woman who does so must be imprisoned, according to some views, or also put to death, according to others.[103]

The matter is that the decision is taken by others, not by himself (religion, politics are not mostly things created by oneself) 8)

EDIT: Sincerely, i would be very happy if each person was able to create his/her own personal politic and religion.

That website really opened the eyes for my friend! He thought about it for an hour and was reading that website nearly the whole day and the next day he told his mother that she may blame him if she wanted to, but he is converting to Buddhist so he can have great time with his beloved Korean girl without causing problems to the girl. My friend and the Korean girl told me that they will arrange the marriage in about 1 month, so I'm going to wish good luck for both of them!

Kale isn't only an author of a great book (I have my hard-copy too :P ) and not only a PureBasic Expert, but also a f**king GENIUS :P
I'm sure there is KIGOHACk somewhere, the Kale's Ingenius Group Of HACkers

Good for him, Budism is more of a concept of life than a religion. (as a Budist you can choose to celebrate any holiday you wish for example)

But if he is a "believer" then tell him that if he has faith in god (regardless of which religious reincarnaition/retelling of him it is) and that his choice is just and honest then god will forgive (if there is a need to forgive) and accept the will of the individual(s).

Myself I'm an Absurdist (look it up on wikipedia) ;)

I'm glad it made him think. Religion is usually the process of non-thinking, i'm glad he has the strength to evaluate all the info he can gather and make his own informed decision for the path of his life. Good luck to them both.

Well, maybe you're a bit sensitive.
For me it is/would be important to be accepted as a person and not as a straight or gay or whatever.
And you cannot deny that heterosexual relationships are the “normal“ ones - also from a biological point of view.
This doesn't mean that you're a sick guy; it's just the way it is

ack WishMaster, I think that it's simply the definition of marriage that it must be a realtion between a man and a woman but that is just the meaning of the word, I think there should also be a form of relationshipt between homosexuals with equal rights and legal consequences, however from my personal point of view it should have a different name maybe a new creation of name, which has no prejudices attached and may therefor built up the same reputation marriage has today, but that's only my two cents and I think we all should be happy that codemaniacs friend has made a decision based on thought rather than faith.

With this being solved can we now get back to programming please? All the stuff about stoning and revenge upon the unbelievers we'll later read back in the tabloids :?
