Wow - this is certainly good news and speaks volumes about PureBasic.

Kudos Fred Fr34k, etc.

Makes me very happy to be a PB user.

Running on Vista here and it won't compile as it claims that the compiler is not loaded. Selecting restart the compiler from the menu does not resolve this.

When starting the beta I get the following:
Wrong compiler response. Probably not the correct compiler version.
Please reinstall PureBasic

Installed on Vista here and works fine.

How did you do the install?

Wow! Way cool

Though I'm going to chicken out and wait for the full release...

Still, looking forward to the XML library, been hearing a lot about how useful XML is, now I'll have an excuse to spend some time learning about it and what I can do with it....

I'll also be looking forward to 4.20 and the DX9 update...

I love the IDE improvements, the web gadget improvements and the scintilla gadget. The scintilla gadget alone is worth the price of admission

This may be of help to someone:

One way to install:

Make a copy of your PureBasic folder. Call it PureBasic_4_10_Beta or something.

Download/unzip the beta to a temporary directory.

Close the PureBasic IDE

Run the unzipped update tool and browse to the copy (PureBasic_4_10_Beta)

Update.

Thereafter:

To run the beta, close PureBasic IDE and restart by double-clicking PureBasic in the Beta folder.

To run the existing 4.02, close PureBasic IDE and restart by double-clicking in the original folder.

Whichever you last ran is the "default" PureBasic until you close PureBasic and launch from a different PureBasic folder.

I'd make a clean install of 4.02 in a new folder and update that, then you don't have a bunch of userlibs installed that aren't going to work.
