460
# Produced from 1968 to 1996.

# Available in Ford, Mercury and Lincoln.

# Same as 429, but with longer stroke. (3.85 inch)

# During its earlier years, pre 1973, horsepower was rated at 365. After 1972 horsepower ranged from 208 to 275.

# Intake/exhaust valves are 2.08/1.66

# Intake/exhaust valves for the Police Interceptor 460 heads (from 1973-'74) measure 2.19/1.66

Yeah, 365 wild ponies and 678 Nm at 2800 rpm.
I used to drive a 2005 Volvo V70 with a D5 engine, it had 420 Nm at 3000 rpm which is really good.

ok. Its a heavy car, the lincoln. But i wonder if you could smash a turbo in it.

Also cut the hood and make an intake like this:

can't help it, i just love muscle cars.

American cars don't have turbos, they have compressors ;)
But yeah, that would be really cool :)

There is a difference. You could even combine the two!
like you also do in some european/chinese/japan cars.

Personally i'd prefer a turbo, because i love that turbo lag. Ok it might be annoying in a race but it feels cool. also in general i think you get more power out of a turbo easier..

I hate the turbo lag. Really annoying when you stand on a red light and a kid is next to you in his moped and you both floor it, he takes the lead the first couple of meters, but offoucrse after that hehehehe.

Thats why you need a lot of "bottom" power too! If you smack a turbo in this car and boost the pressure a good slam i bet you could have a nice time driving from the mopeds (or the porsche's hehe)
