I've been thinking of making my own converter. Just need a Xbox gamepad plug that I can use, don't wanna destroy the one on my gamepad.

My brother uses his Xbox 360 gamepad on his PC :)

I'm on the linux side and you dare to recommend me stuff from Micro$oft  ?

@Joakim: That's exactly the pad that I talked about, is it good?

I found a pad called "Dual Action Gamepad" that looks exactly the same as a PlayStation pad, and the price is very cheap (only 25 € here!)
Would you recommend it?
well, I actually would prefer a real PSX pad with adapter.

Anyway, wich brand is it and what exactly the name of the model. Because there are thousands of pads by different brands that have a pad named like "Dual Action Gamepad".
Oh, and on the other hand, I found a gamepad called "Soyntec Gamepad Apollo GP-100" this connects through the MIDI port and looks very nice and it costs only 15 €!
Do You mean this pile of poo?

Uhmmmm.... yes, I mean that
And I mean the Dual Action Gamepad that Joakim also means

Well, I looked for a XBOX 360 controller and found one for the PC which connects through USB (no need for an adapter this time  )
However, I have always kept in mind that the XBOX (and XBOX 360) controller is very uncomfortable on my hands (it was very difficult for me to play Halo!)

The only comfortable and right size gamepad for a console (for me) is GameCube's gamepad (I have a GameCube and I bought Sonic Riders about a week ago and I still can feel the comfortness of the gamepad :P )

EDIT: Hey, if I find a SNES gamepad somewhere, I could do this:

Doesn't look very hard and just good that I went that extra course about hardware, so I know what I am doing (wait! do I :?: )

Well, those are for kids aren't they? ;)
I got pretty big hands and the big, old original Xbox controller fits nicely in my hands. I find the new Xbox360 controller abit small. And looks abit, well, feminine hehehe

Though its primarily designed for first person shooter type games (which are my favorites).

I actually like the "pile of poo" one, anybody know where I can order one here in the USA?

I like simplicity in a joypad.

Theres an open source driver for it, I'm pretty sure it works in linux.

Btw I'm talking about the first xbox, and the S-version controller.

Couldn't seem to find anyone in the usual places I look, but maybe Soyntec can help, http://www.soyntec.com/ They do have a page where you tell them where you are and they'll tell you the closest dealers.

Another interesting game controller is Microsoft's Sidewinder Strategic Commander. These are best suited for games like WarCraft.
