Just thinking about it, it is Catch 22, almost.
To get big enough to develop and support 3xOS, 3D, and the current (excellent) functionality you need to have already done it.
Or you need to sell out for a big injection of funds, in which case you're no longer you and you no longer control the direction of things - unless your benefactor is very white-knight-ish.
However, with patience (to see us through MacOS and linux 4.00) the 3D stuff will happen. I
suspect that Fred has a strong desire to work on the 3D (perhaps even would like to concentrate on it) but resists as there are other things that need sorting first (like linux, MacOS 4.00).

will you please stop misusing this thread teaching people your way of social life and behavoiur?
Thank you...

That's why I started this thread... because nothing happened during the last 3 years!
4.0 has no 3D you can use as had 3.xx ... and there is no sign inside the beta that it ever will have it.

No sorry, not as long as your posts could be offending to others.
I didn't try to teach you _my_ way, I only wanted you to re-think
_your_ usage of the english language. This is a (very friendly)
community, not a fight-for-your-right-of-freedom-of-speech-site.
But yes, I'll stop posting in this thread now. You're welcome.

Personally I'd like to see the 3D stuff removed from PureBasic altogether and Fantaisie Software produce a second product that focuses on that.
The problem with this is, that 3D cannot stand alone - you need 2D to mix it with 3D; you need all functions for files, network, strings, sprites, images, aso. in 3D as well ... So, a seperate development brings nothing. And if you have 2 different, users tend to buy the version with 3D included as you can see elsewhere...

have you ever thought that you are offending me? Stop this shit and make your own thread about behaviour!

About the main point: yes, the 3D is a bit weak compared to other PB area. You can't compare PB with all the langages you mentionned because:
1) None of them are multi-purpose based programming langage (application, games, API, asm etc.)
2) None are cross-platforms
Now, you can draw a list of highly missing functions (without simply copying the B3D doc, thanks), with a short description and why it's so damnly missing and i will take a look. It would be more benefit than just telling: it is a bunch of crap.
A last thing: we do our best to improve PB, but the v4 is clearly not enough for you, as i would have expected. I think you really don't measure the work which is behind the scene and that's a bit sad.

Sorry i have absoltly disagree to this! As other people said before, this is a friendly forum and no reason to get in fight! I think a lot of people agree in some point of your first posting (like no realy changes for 3D stuff) but please calm down a bit! And please use some other english words instead "stop this shit" " and so on! What about telling us what and how to change/improve? Thanks!

Come on guys... are you really telling me you can't create a full 3D game in PB with the new commands? If this is what you're saying, then your knowledge and creativity using PB is null. What ever functions are missing you can create in PB alone, with the exception of maybe a few.
Kale: I was suprised to hear your remark. Sure there are more 3D functions that could be added but I think you can do more in PB then just move an object around.
Let's see, we can import meshes and skeletons. We have collision and physics. We have particles and lights. We have PUREBASIC, so quit crying and go create.

Yes, I can do that... but you may not remember, we had this same conversation 3 years ago via email ... and it ended disillusioned for me stopping the development with PureBasic.
The 4.0 version caught my interest again ... and indeed I am disappointed, that there was so tiny development concerning 3D in the meantime
A last thing: we do our best to improve PB, but the v4 is clearly not enough for you, as i would have expected. I think you really don't measure the work which is behind the scene and that's a bit sad.
I measure the work ... and as I said above I appreciate that you are still developing although you have not to ...
Others may think different, but I think you pushed your effort for 3 years now into the wrong direction missing the main point why most people are interested in PB and are now with upcoming 4.0 disappointed again.
Ok... as you wished, I will collect and describe the 3D-functions what I would introduce if I would have to program a 3D-Tool with PB ... I send it to you per email
I will not continue to post in this Forum ... this is a complete waste of time ...

pfff, thade, i dunno, but i think the pb team is doing an incredible good job
i also think the core of the language has to be good before building on features, ie. most of the changes for pb4 were simply essential to keep it going
there's a few small things left, but i think fred's getting pretty close to a good basic setup, and i do expect some improvements in the other fields in the future as well
appearently, you're not that patient... then again, you're probably working on your second million with all the money you made with your first game... i, for one, am not so good, unfortunately
if it takes fred another year or two to improve pb, i'll be hanging around and buying another license
