People poke fun at Christianity all the time, including cartooons of Jesus. Although this is offensive to many and considered blasphemy in Christianity to make graven images, there is not much of an outcry and life goes on. However, make a cartoon about Mohammed (the one with a bomb as a hat was very accurate) and Muslims are literally going on the warpath threatening violence, murder and kidnappings and other utter evil nonsense.

If Allah was god and Mohammed was a prophet to be worshipped, wouldn't they be able to take care of revenge on their own. Are they such wimps that they need a bunch of lowlifes who live worse than the Flintstones to defend their honor and do their bidding? Ironicly what few muslims in these third-world countries that do have a decent standard of living is only because of the western countries they hate so much who buy their oil.

This thread should be deleted before some muslims hack our forum.

I ignored this thread (never even read it) until today. This morning on the news I see what all the fuss was about and outside the BBC was a group of muslims with banners... here's the summary: you show cartoon, we get Bin Laden to bomb you. Hmmmm.

Now is worst a cartoon than censorship.

This "Oh, there has somebody dishonored mohammed, boykott or kill them all" pisses me off. These Cartoons have a deeper meaning, e.g. the attitude of mohammed and the islam to violence. Sorry, I lost some of my respect for parts of the islamic world in the past few days, because:
1) I hoped it could start a dialog in respect of content between grown-up persons and not the stupid banning somebody from speaking.
2) I think a little portion self-mockery is very healthy and keeps people staying in peace with each other. In strict religions there is no place for it.

Where can we see this drawings? I dont buy the newspaper... (only on sundays, the biggo one with some stupid informatics suplement which is good for nothing but my dog's pee) Since its Easier to see it live on inet, but didnt seen anything about this... Nor I felt like searching.

Sorry to say this, but some of these drawings are FAKE! There were only 12 drawings, here i see more. This is one of the problems the newspaper had, that it was much ruder drawings showed in arabia and so on than they made in the first case..

I don't agree with notion that you can insult anyone in anyway and call this freedom,these days if you say something about someone that isnot true , he takes you to court,if you burn your country flag,in many countries, you will be taken to jail, your freedom ends where you hurts others,so drawing jesus , muhammed ,or anybody else in a way that they feel insulting to them is not right , as you would be ban from this forum,or any other forum if you say something bad about a member.Thanks.

Of course, insulting is not right. But this doesn't make burning buildings an understandable reaction.

Imho el_choni is right. This is freedom of speech. I can insult whoever i want to, they can react of course.. There is a limit of how bad you can do it, but this is not breaking the line (my opinion).

are antisemitic cartoons published by arabian newspapers. These cartoons are shown here to demonstrate the ambivalence of their mentality. The antisemitic cartoons there are quite dirty, but nobody sees any reason to say sorry for it - it's totally OK for them, though there were official requests for apologizing. In the other case when there are some islamic cartoons shown then they see this even as a justification for destroying consulates. >sick<

The problem here is, that you don't understand german and I forgot about explaining what the other pics are

The first row of pictures are from arab newspapers, i.e. they are examples of how hypocritical the storm of protest really is. Only the second list of pictures (the one containing exactly 12 images) represents the "muslim cartoons".
