Imagine what happened if this was possible.

I don't see the point to be 'Blitz compatible'. If you want to use Blitz, use Blitz. About the braketless function, i just find this syntax inconsistent and it will not be changed. Why there is 2 ways to do exactly the same thing ? Also it will interfer with variables.

I don't want purebasic to be blitz compatible, just more similar

Ok, if no one wants that then no point to add it...

If you want no brackets, buy blitzbasic!

lol, Polo.
You must have done something bad in a previous life to cop all this flak.
@all:
Putting aside the merits and demerits of the request, it seemed like an innocuous enough wish to me.

Anyhow, for everyone in a bad mood, for those who had a bad day at work; who dented the car; who spilt their coffee; who didn't get a leg over; who just like gang-bashing; anyone needing a victim so they can vent their spleen:
slag off at this post instead.
HeHe.

@Fred:
i want pb compatible with C64 basic... what about something like numbers for each line like:
10 BackToRoots Are You Sure? Yes No 0 ; New art of Messagerequester...
20 If Are You Sure : Goto 30 : Else Goto 50
30 POKE 53280,0 : POKE 53281,0
40 END
50 SYS 64738
i still think we can stop that kind of discussion

Yes, i'm pretty certain we'll go nowhere with this and that this forum section is useless.

Polo, useless perhaps, but I'm used to be able to use brackets if I choose to do so, and am a bit surprised
about how your request for them turned out.
Maybe 'Feature request and wishlist' isn't a place to post your 'Feature request and wishlist's
after all. :roll:

Polo, please don't let yourself get discouraged by this.
This section is anything else than useless, it already
helped to improve PureBasic more than once.
Cheer up!

Well, it's just my thought, as most of the request (not only mine) are rejected for workarounds or simply got forgotten... Then the Trick&Tips forum is enought.

@Polo
i agree with traumatic. if pb would be changed that way, i would probably stop using it. pb has imho a better syntax than blitz and i would never ever want to see that changed. you cant make feature requests to copy an other language, especially something like blitz... this is silly. if there is a need for copy, then blitz should copy pb.

HaH!
Perhaps there are an only thing i miss from BlitzBasic syntax in PB:
AddItem(), NextItem(), etc ... instead AddElement(), NextElement(), etc...
For sure it was a Fred's decision making a
different compiler than Blitz one
