Rar is for dummies, 7z rules
Well, yes 7zip has a higher compression level for many filetypes, but each time I install it I keep getting lots of errors. That's the main reason I ain't using it now.

And as Noah said, Rar's recovery feature is awesome and only adds a very small ammount to the finished archive :)

and even more:
most people do have an rar-unpacker, but not an 7z unpacker :)
well i know 7z is free [and afaik reads rar, too] so it might be worth a try..!

One of your libraries appears to be infected with a Trojan downloader "Trojan horse Downloader.1stbar.8.K" (according to AVG anti-virus)...

Maybe you should check your GetIP library and the rest of your system...

Its also within the library attached to the uninstaller!

I just downloaded the GetIP lib and installed it, then I checked it with Avast! and it didn't find anything.

@Anthony

My system is pure.. you should really recheck your system. Because
it must be running in your memory if the file shows that upon saving
the file to your hard drive.

** it might have looked inside the file and "thought" that the application
inside is a trojan, as it DOES download the web page in text format
from this site: URL$ = "http://www.ipaddressworld.com"

That's how it resolves your 'true' ip address..

Think that is why I switched from AVG to Avast!.
I reported a few viruses to Rits Labs who makes The Bat and they we're all fake and caused by AVG.

Dammit...

Why do you people insist in using HUGE antivir applications that don't work...

Try this one..... Uses less 50mb in memory and detected a lot more viruses than some award winning AV's....

Oh! It's free too :P

That link didn't work for me. I really don't want to change this thread
into AV.. but here is what I use, and have never had an issue.

Panda Titanium Antivirus 2005
http://www.pandasoftware.com/
Av / Firewall / AntiSpyWare / and a BUNCH more..

Spyware Doctor
http://www.pctools.com/

I actually have Panda running on my internet server. Handles everything
from ip scans to DOS attacks ..
