Grrr, the silly ranking system keeps people from having fun... PHPBB should just trash the whole thing... It has only 2 effects:
1) Makes people waste space and bandwidth to get a high rank... or
2) Puts people in competition with eachother....
The whole system should be taken out...grrr.... TIMO

hmmm. postcount = postcount + 1 ?
2) Puts people in competition with eachother....
it could be cool having a big board with no administrators and moderators to see how it develops
..

If your post, or a thread is deleted, the YES, your post count goes down...
had a nasty incident with Berikco when upping my post-count too..
we were gunning for the 10th place of top-ten-posters.. then he just deleted some of my posts and knocked me a place down, so that he took my 10th place.. hehe

Of course it goes down.. i loose about 50 posts each time the bugs section gets cleaned
