Hi GPI,

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask this, however ...

What is your recommended version of JaPBe for latest releases of PB?

Currently I am using v3.89 Beta 1 and it appears to work OK with all the 3.91 of PB - At least I think it is using the 3.91s :) - it runs and compiles them.

BTW, I would use the releases of JaPBe as they come out but they do something strange with associations. If I right click on a PB file and take "open with" I get a list of JaPB associations, which I cannot remove. And no PB association, nor can I add one. Other progs, though, like Arachnophilia, etc, are still on the list and can be associated. (Win2000pro)

So, I would like to use the latest and greatest but request your advice on which version because I don't want this huge list of associations.

Hope that made sense.

Beta4. The old one will not work correct with PB 3.91Beta and higher.

*point to fred* Fred use a strang methode of associate (look in germany: Systemsteuerung/Ordneroptionen; Maybe something like systemcontrol/FolderOptions) and look at the .pb-Associate. Click on wiederherstellen/recover. The start IDE, it will destroy the recoverd/repaired associate.
I must du the same strange methode, or everytime you start IDE, jaPBe will disassociate.

btw: Open is IDE, Edit is jaPBe.

And one tip: Try click disassociate and the associate in jaPBe.

gpi, do you think it would be possible to disable all skinning stuff with a single option?

when using windows in 'old skool' win98 / winnt look, the new buttons look horrible

yes, it's possible to assign different bitmaps to each button, but then every user must create his own buttons when the theme colours are different etc.

i *love* japbe, and i honestly admire all your effort (keep on going!) but the skinning is something i could do without... but hey, it might be just me...

nope, 3-1, as gpi must have liked it, otherwise he wouldn't implement it! :-)

I tried the newest version, but it has a bug -

When I compile the exe, my program's icon isn't used.

With the earlier version (1.4.1.1) it works ok

I have the latest PB, and the JAPBE version 1.4.1.1 seems to work fine with it.

i experimented the same bug...
but i think it's because i'm using pb3.90 and not 3.91

in jaPBe doc, it's said : for pb3.91 only !
but i would like to say that my pb3.90 works well with the latest jaPBe.
only one identified bug (at this moment) :
the icon which not included to the executable.

For PB3.90 and older you must use jaPBe 1.x.x.x or no Resources (Icons,Manifest, etc) are included.

I found a funny bug...
If I open a .pb file and I click on a different tab before it's finished loading, I get this error:
Congratulations, you found a bug!
The showned text And The intern name doesn't fit.
I will now correct this. But it is a good idea to save the files under a diffrent name und quit japbe.
Please try to reproduce this bug and contact me. Thanks
GPI
It helps if the file is very large...
You have to be quick, or your computer has to be slow
