Me too: PIII-600 Win98SE (other comps similar spec (except 2 x P200) but with Linux). I mention this because I think a lot of people do not upgrade just for the sake of it.

as i have everything in 'windows classic' style...
i simply don't like the 'windows for children' look, no fancy boxes for me, i'll do with the regular straight ones, speed is everything

I have activate the Windows-XP-Silver Style. And round buttons look better than normal buttons.
And about CustomButtons: I planed to use it in the Preferences (for the preview for the Styles.) and in the about-box.
At the moment i can't activate the XP-Style by a manifest, because the preview of the styles is then disabled.
