Doing some google research (with new google excelent tools), i found that Purebasic is much more well known in Europe that, lets say PowerBasic or BlitzBasic...

BUT (and here is the problem), if you look where REAL buyers comes from (USA), then PowerBasic is more well known that PureBasic.

So, imho, if want to get more purchases, need to point, not to Europe (no much sells in my experience), but to USA.

The discussion about "then", "do", etc. is just some strange discussion that dont have nothing to do with the pourpouse of the informative web page for possible buyers.

The point is not if the "then" keyword is used, but how easy will be to someone with BASIC knowledge to use PureBasic and how powerfull it is, despite is BASIC. The learning curve and the potential. THAT is the point.

The point that makes .NET very popular (and the reason thay the offer VB, C#, flavors) is that it is easy for anyone with some small knowledge in programming to start doing something with .NET

Well, PB can offer something similar: easy to learn, powerfull to use.

That is one point. Another point is e.g. compatibility with other BASIC flavours. That's where the question about the keywords arises.

Its NOT compatible with other basics, are just very similar.
So, i dont think there is a *real* point looking for compatibility.

The idea, i guess, i let you use your knowledge in BASIC, not to be 1005 compatible with sourcecodes from other BASIC flavor.

Its obvios that every BASIC flavor has some minor differences.

Well you could always write an article about it and submit it to CPU Magazine etc... Grab some cash and increase visibility.

hey guys ive used power basic,

i still do find purebasic much better, i was a VB fan till they shot it down so i tried power basic and got fed up so i moved to purebasic.
i think the way the biz is going now is different, .Net too wont last long, blogging and html/ajax kinds could be the future for the dev guys.
desktop guys like me, who loved VB etc, are in a minority..heck i used to work with guys in DBASE and DOS disk based machines back in 1987-90. i was around 15 then...and lotus 123 was still cooler than excel (it was dying and i knew folks moving to C++ back then because all major apps were around excel).

if someone is looking for a serious career in coding, get to the www code, ajax, javascript etc, if your looking for desktops then even PB or anything based on ye ol win32 apis still rocks. infact win98 still is as much fun as XP (dunno abt vista).

look at Save Game Editor (Pure Basic)

I rarely came here (and rarely touch Pure Basic nowdays). sick, day job and busy with other things. however once .40 comes out (with updated Ogre) maybe I'll start looking into things again.

That's the best I can do to expose it to demosceners (who obviously love to program).

I guess you can either curse the darkness or light a candle.
