I disagree with the region coding DRM for DVD and bluray
Everyone should... region coding is simply a way to insure censorship and make sure that local distributors can make profit on DVD and BLU sales!

There is really no reason to do so. A BLU disk for Japan, India, GB, ANZ, or Texas carries the same information... the player plays the movie in the TV Format of the region...

Censorship and bad business is what region coding is!!! That way china can prevent movies from playing that aren't on the ALLOWED list. Which is why my wife has friends in China that come here just to buy BLURAY players!

Great, anyone mind making a summary of this thread?
So we have stuff about DVD region coding, little bit of gaming consoles, DRM on new games like Spore, copy protection "sucks", honest people suffer more, torrents for the win.
