It is good to have great dreams, isn't it? And, as some song or the other says, if we didn't dream, how could we have dreams come true?

Mate, look after the place while I am gone. You know what to do - just keep doing what you've been doing.

Oh, and BTW, you've got s*it on your hands.

An unoffical Alpha version of PureBasic.NET exists ,its running on my WinCE-PocketPC-Device here.........

@newtheogott:
PureB uses fasm, which has a good 64Bit-support , so i bet my 2 cents
that a native x86-64 in PureB is not so far away as the Linux-version (i read it first in 1999 )from the vapor Powerbasic ;) .

Using Strings as Memory-holder is a known practice as Basic-Coder.
But if you running with UniCode, you can fall in many holes&gaps.
For example: i have rewritten an App from String-Memory to Binary-Memory while the OS is UniCode (here COM-PORT and TCP-Socks)
and some Umlaute in korean (if you develope for UniCode-languages)are others than in german.
Since that day, i would never use strings as simply binary memoryholder.

You are right.

EVERY BIG THING in the world (including this big letters :-) ),
started as a DREAM, as a idea.

As a PICTURE IN MIND.

Thats why I had the dream and i tried to find out if Fred has teh dream too. After all we know he had the dream.

The most important point, about Purebasic is in my opinion the fair Licence. Fred makes it easy for eaveryone to get updates once he bought Purebasic one time.

He helps people that their dreams (about programming) come true.
That way HIS DREAMS come true.

In fact thats the difference between a good and a bad Capitalist.
The good one looks how he can make the dreams of other people come true and just wonders how fast his bussiness grows.

@Rings:
I found some messages in my forum box from you, you remember that was from the old debugger with the 1's on the stack ...
Anyway I am actually not interested in .NET or 64 bit, but when it comes to that, I have all tools to do it.
I am sure two of them can be written like this: PB. :-)

newtheogott wrote:I remember a discussion with Daniel (from the Forum here), where he wanted to make a connection to a DLL, and he had some trouble. I think because of missing datatypes. Maybe he can write something about it if the problems are still there.
daniel is me.
Yeah there were some starting troubles, but they are all fixed now. The biggest problem is now that i pass a pointer to a string-array to the powerbasic dll, which powerbasic cant really use because of the purebasic way of handling strings. I am getting that fixed though with a little help from the dll author.

@Paul ...
Look what I have found ... your name is still known in the Powerbasic Forum!

http://www.powerbasic.com/support/forum ... 01017.html

Btw. reading the post we see that the Powerbasic forum is not all the way as some posts say.

Also, as said, Purebasic users are also welcome to take a look at Jose's new Board. It has a lot of COM-Stuff and also GDI+ things which are not avaiable anywhere else in the WEB.

Blast from the Past!!! :D

I'm glad that the things I said weren't of the type to come back and haunt me too :wink:

I'vetold Jose that I've found you also the comment about Wayne.
And he remembered your name and said:
"They are very nice guys!" .

Doesn't sound like haunting. :-)

Having Jose defect over here would be very beneficial. A month after he arrives we'd have activeX controls running on PureB and Fred's COM issues would all be solved. :)

I'll hold the net open if Dare get's ready with a big club. We'll bag this fella yet! :)

We could always ransom him back to the Pow. Basic forums if he doesn't agree to help out!
