Yeah - that's why I wonder if they really mean a "maximum" of 5 business days. They're well under their "minimum".

Alright. So I caved in and ordered. And hopefully in 5-10 days I'll be able to put this PureBasic to some good use. For those looking to save a few bucks (as I always am) after some yahoo'ing I came across a coupon code for $5 off.

I got it in yesterday! This will go along side my "Learn to Program 2D Games in PureBasic" very nicely!

I've just updated the sample PDF and lengthened it a bit to give prospective buyers more insight to what is contained within the book.

Up until now i have sold very many copies and not a bad word has been spoken at all! Everybody seems really please about it. Thanks!

yes i bought it some weeks ago.
and i can confirm it is good, and very pleasant to get it at home.

my feeling is that it is the book that should be sold with purebasic.
it looks like a good and complete manual, well explained, well documented, that covers all the purebasic commands set.

all you need to start with purebasic is in.

How useful would it be to someone who has lots of computer programming experience but is a relative beginner with PureBasic?

kale's book is not a tips & tricks books nor a 'How To' make a software/game. it's more like a 'bible' (as we say in france).

I wrote my book with the sole intention of providing complete beginners with a guide to computer programming in general, and to provide experienced coders a 'quick-ref' to learn PB from.

If you are an experienced coder you will get a lot out of this book while learning PB. It doesn't cover anything really advanced (well not until later chapters) it gives you a guide and examples on nearly every command in Purebasic.

I've made some enquiries into why Kale doesn't seem to be contributing much to the forum nowadays and it's because he is busy, Very Busy! Infact i've heard it's because he and his wife have had a re-think about the design of the book and they've decided to add (wait for it..) FULL PDF VERSION SUPPORT! Shocked I've also heard that this is a decision largely based upon being approached by a larger company (sometime in this year) with the intention of aquiring the book.

I personally think that the book doesn't need a PDF version, but if it's fully supported (like it sounds as though it's going to be) i'll still be using it.

I can't name sources, but they seem credible!

Any official word?

Yes, this book has been easy to read. I have gotten busy so I am in the middle, litterally, of it. But, it's on my workbench ready to be picked up at a seconds notice.

I have not bought the book, and probably will not, but I am amazed in looking through the sample that "PureBasic" is continually spelled as "Purebasic".

Surely this is something that you could fix in a couple of minutes in your word processor via search/find/replace and reupload a fixed PDF to CafePress?

This is an observation, not a flame.

Congrats on the book and I am glad it is selling well for you. It looks like it is a "must-have" for PBers.
