France produced a big performance when it mattered, I hope England will do the same.

England has some classy players. If it comes together for them, they will be potent. But perhaps behind the scenes stuff impacts on them? I gather there is some discontent with the way things are managed, etc?

As an aside: Interestingly, perhaps the best way Australia could have bowed out of the comp was the way it did.

General opinion here (my little circle) seems to be that we were not shamed at all, and ranges from "we wuz robbed" to "soft penalty" - and without a chance to fight back. Nobody thinks we were beaten. (Nor do I)

Now there is a desire to get back there and "show them".

Only downside is that some people are wondering what the rules actually are,. :) Questions like "how can you play a game when you don't know what the rules are (or how the rules are interpreted) to start with?" and "How come there are two sets of rules, one for us and one for the other team?"

lol.

The premier league is the best, sadly the england team is far away from the local football

- France is not playing good... Brazil is a team that plays iin accordance to the rival... France needs a miracle.

-@Dare
Australia did it... Its a good team, and lost with a penalty only in the referee's mind... thats unfair...

DO you realize that most of the times the referees favor famous teams (Brazil, Italy, Argentina...etc).. curious..

The technology should appear in the football, at least in plays that are vital: penalties and goals as a consecuence of an offside, they need to review them in screen before take a decision).. is very sad than some teams lose because a player cheat the referee and score!... and by dreams! IMHO.

Maybe fairnes is against the will of some very powerfull betting guys, who love to help their bets with some extra money. We had a problem like this in our local league, the referee became even more known than the best players though^^

super matches today

A great fight between Portugal and England
and a fantastic match from team France.

Gratulation and Thank You

I am a little bit sad about the elimination
of England, because I had hope onto a match
England - France.

Well done.

I though we showed the 'old spirit', but at the end of the day, we simply didn't play well enough throughout the tournament to even consider ourselves worthy of winning. The manager certainly did his best to screw things up - what with the striker fiasco and his insistence on playing Beckham despite his poor form etc.....

Then of course there's 'Bruce Lee' Rooney. He certainly got his pound of flesh! :(

Oh well, there's always next time.

My heart now says Portugal, but my head screams Germany!

england was better than portugal today,
but ricardo was the last wall !
i understand your disappointment.

about zidane (zizou, we say here in france)
what a 'big' man, still here, still at the top. simply magic.
