Nah, I don't think it was a mistake. They are giving away 5.5 so people will buy the soon-to-be-released 6.0. It's a brilliant marketing strategy as I've seen links to this download on 15 or 20 other programming related newsgroups. Actually, that's not true. As LarsG said, the REALbasic offer page clearly states
that the free version is for Visual Basic users, not licensees. And the License.txt
that comes with the free offer states nothing about having to own a license to
VB to distribute apps made with RB. It's all in the wording, and they've failed
to look after their own interests. Legally, they've made a massive boo-boo.
