Does the linux version work on freebsd? Will the editor (especially the new beta one) work? And can it compile and run the apps?

Sorry but we don't have FreeBSD system to test on, but it can run linux exe no ?

I don't know. I believe it can but I'd read an older post that said there was a problem when compiling under bsd.

The reason I ask is that I'm considering installing bsd on my system. I was considering either bsd or a flavor of linux but I'm really leaning toward bsd and hoping PB for Linux could run & compile programs under bsd.
