Q on Project Organisation and etc

I have pb running under linux (and love it!) and am now thinking about doing some more-or-less "real" stuff with it.

However, being a novice with linux I am not sure of the best way to organise my projects. For example, any linux standards to keep to, Which directories are best to use, which editor(s) are best, and etc. etc.

So I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share some ideas, preferences, must-do's, must-not-do's, or anything else, really, for linux-based pb projects.

Yeah I agree. Good question. Been wondering about that myself.
