To be clear, it doesn't change anything. It's not only loading times, everything is slower. But loading times, because of how CPU intensive they are, are the most obvious slow downs.

Too bad that it's commercial, and we can't really know whats inside. I'm pretty much interested, what can be the cause.

Update: Steam support has deactivated the overlay from my game, and it now works as intended! Hurray! (3 weeks to do that!)

No they just said that I cannot do it from my side. Maybe a specific library of PB? Honestly, I don't think they investigated anything. Some people on Steamworks forum were kind enough to point me that their dll was hooking to something in the code; I sent them the screenshot, they saw it, boom, we deactivate the dll injection and goodbye!

Steam support is always saturated and overwhelmed. A shame for a company that earns 50M per employee

I already said it was likely hooking your window. So only way for you to get around that would be to thread it but that could add complications with your io. Good that it's sorted.
