Briefly, I'm writing a proggy that plays audio, still and hopefully video files. After trying the Movie functions, knowing the limitations of MCI, I considered BASS but wanted to give DirectShow a try. I bit of searching revealed key posts in the English and German versions of the forum.
The DshowMedia.pbi v1.1 and 1.3 looked promising but was not able to get those to compile. I was able to get working (as it appears) the version posted by NovaBlue on Dec 12, 2016 working with Freds fixes on Jul 25, 2024. I have been able to Load, Play, Pause, get the Lenght (sic). I haven't tested Volume and still need to implement multiple instances and OnMediaEvent to let the manager know when the end of file has been reached. That said, it looks promising.
First, I want to express my thanks for the DirectShow routines. Y'alls work is most appreciated! (...especially by one who is still stumbling around learning PureBasic after literal decades with the other compiler. And, BTW, things are staring to progress well.)
To the point of this post, I'm just inquiring whether are the further updates or refinements to these routines or possibly other routines. I'm just checking before I get really deep into implementing this so that I don't have to start over after getting deep into it.
Anyhow, that's it. I'm going to get back at this.
Thanks,
Dan

I enter the PureBasic world, targeting both Mac and Windows, by way of PowerBasic, Win32API, EZGUI back to CP/M via various BASIC dialects, xBase and other languages as needed.
