The passing of a good friend

Post by Fangbeast »

Many years ago, Jumbuck frequented these forums and contributed where he could with good humility and a warm sense of humour.

I regret to inform all who care that he passed away on Wednesday at age 85, the details of which are unimportant.

Since he left in 2017 for various reasons, we corresponded since and helped each other out on many occasions and I will miss him greatly.

We have lost another good one.

Although I read these forums regularly, I don't ever seem to find the time to participate in many of the posts.

I have always found this forum full of polite and helpful people and although I do not remember him personally it is always sad when a member passes away.
Its nice to hear that you both kept in touch and just shows that some people do care. A testament to you both.

Rest in peace JumBuck.
Regards

Andy

I sometimes think I have been here too long as I have witnessed the passing of many good people.

Does anyone remember TronDoc (Joe Block)? First one I ever remembered to have lost. Great bloke.

Jumbuck's son emailed me today to let me know as I'd left an impression on his father and I was always mentioned.

At least I know. Some vanish without notice. I am very sad today.

Unless the nickname TronDoc was taken by someone else, the original (Joe Block) went many, many years ago.

Unless I put the nickname ass about as usual.

Here we go, the last time I remember he was here: "Mon Jul 04, 2005 01:54" according to the member list.

That is sad news.

Indeed, only seems like yesterday.

I often wonder what happened to 'dare' (dare2)? Thoroughly pleasant fella who simply, and suddenly, vanished from these forums which was totally out of character. Had to assume the worst really which was, and is, very sad.
I may look like a mule, but I'm not a complete ass.

The last time I spoke to him years ago, he had had an accident and broke his leg(s) and was undergoing extensive physiotherapy and didn't know if he'd be back. It must have gone bad for him sadly.

I know two users in the german forum. A user died and another user had a stroke. He went online in the forum after a long time. Later he didn't come back.
That's always sad. :(

I am sorry for the loss of your friend. *Hugs Fangles*

And yes, TronDoc died and is still missed by me.

The first community member I can remember losing is Daniel Yang (username Someone). From a different community, but we have lost way too many over the years in the various development communities.

I shudder to think what happened to Gnozal. I hope he's still with us, but it's strange for him not to post a goodbye message if he was leaving.
