Brand new to IMac

Post by ChuckLayton »

I just got a new iMac yesterday. I'm downloaded Xcode and registered as a developer and downloaded pure basic. How do I make it work. the text file is very vague on how to make the IDE work and compile a program on a Mac. Please help. I know for someone that is an old hat to the Mac and OS X mountain Lion it is probally simple but I'm a complete novice when it comes to a Mac.

I think you need to install command line tools.

That could be. Is there some directions on how to do this someplace?

when you install Xcode there should an option to install Unix tools but you can also download the command tools from developer.apple.com/downloads since you subscribed to the developer program

You don't need Xcode for PureBasic. Just go to developer.apple.com and get the "command line tools". If you want to send your app to the Mac App Store, go to itunesconnect.apple.com and download the "Application Loader". But you have to sign your app. See this... http://www.purebasic.fr/english/viewtop ... 19&t=47183
