The VPN the company I work for uses RSA SecurID tokens. The problem is that for the Android version it is capatible only with v1.0 of the software which is no longer available through Google Play (what used to be the Android Market).
When my contract runs out with my current carrier I am considering switching carriers to one that is more cost effective which also means I'd be switching phones. Whether I do this or not would depend on whether I can copy for move my current RSA SecurID v1.0 app from my current phone to the new phone.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
Moving an app from one phone to another
Re: Moving an app from one phone to another
you should be able to transfer the APK file from your old one and run it on the new one - most programs will install themself from this file

Go find yourself a copy of MyPhoneExplorer at http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php and it works via USB, WiFi or bluetooth.
Apart from reading/ Writing Android phones (in addition to SonyEricsson phones) it can backup installed and system applications to disk with their original filenames as when they were installed.
And it can install applications to a phone from disk (or any other storage device).
It's free.
P.S He stopped listing phones that the application is compatible with as so many android phones are released each week that you just have to try it.
My Samsung S II wasn't on the list when he first maintained it but it worked just fine.

Thanks for the info, that's good to know! I'd have loved this but when I checked the phone and both micro SDHC cards that were used in the phone (the original card that came with it and a larger capacity card I bought for it later) I couldn't find the apk file for the RSA SecurID v1.0 app.citystate wrote:you should be able to transfer the APK file from your old one and run it on the new one - most programs will install themself from this file

Thanks! I'll give it a try since the apk file method that citystate spoke of won't work for me.Fangbeast wrote:Go find yourself a copy of MyPhoneExplorer at http://www.fjsoft.at/en/downloads.php and it works via USB, WiFi or bluetooth.
I also found that by sharing the app via gmail I was able to get a download link to it, I'll try that too.
If I can get it I'll look for and archive a copy of the apk file, just in case...
