Cant say I have noticed any major problems for the stuff I use ProGUI for here, perhaps you could submit the code so we can test it out and see if we get the same results.Has anyone else seen slowdown -this- severe? Chris can you offer an reassurance about this? It just seems like an awful lot of slowdown for one extra Draw command to be causing?? Even compiled with Debugger Off, it is the same.. Am I freaking out over nothing?

What do you mean by "interface leftover" ? it sounds like what I may be trying to describe.Poshu wrote:I've got interface leftover when quitting some fat application using progui, but it load lightning fast here and I've got no slowdown.

Sorry that i've not been as quick to reply as I usually am guys, i'll tell you the story... I've had a strong relationship with a girl for a while, well we lived together and slept together for a year. i've had no money and she knew i would have very little money in the future. She's visiting me now, but only the first thing she showed me was the pictures in London, "chris, do yoyu want to see the pictures of me in london?" with her "new" boyfriend... gutted somes up how i'm feeling right now

I can tell you there are still a lot of VB6 refugees (like me) still looking for a VB6-like platform to finally migrate to.
ProGUI is like those OCX GUI controls in VB6.
If you have a Visual Designer for PB that is VB6-like, you may see increased customer flow. The Visual Designer can use ProGUI as an add-on.
PB is badly in need of a Visual Designer. As it is, the current designer still produces codes that cause errors.
I see this as a great opportunity for you.
Re: ProGUI V1.30! User Interface Library (Major Update 1!)
Hang in there PrincieD.

Best wishes to the PB community. Thank you for the memories.

Re: ProGUI V1.30! User Interface Library (Major Update 1!)
I've had a similar experience, it still bothers me because random shit reminds me of her all the time. Except I got dumped in the middle of trying to deal with health issues (and put my life together in general - way to motivate someone, eh?), so don't worry you aren't alone there...
Anyway, I was just thinking about this the other day. It would be very cool if ProGUI had a visual designer, but that is a lot of tricky, additional work, especially for 1 guy whos GUI system supports several languages.

Sorry to hear about your dilemma Chris, but look on the bright side, its a good thing you didn't get married and the new guy might well have to keep looking over his shoulder.
Check out my new girl, she never gives me any trouble, does the mowing and fertilises all at the same time, not much of a cook though.

Chin up mate, there are plenty of fish in the sea, but finding a faithful one these days can be a bit tricky, that's why I don't have one hanging around

If your new girl is so faithful, why have you chained her to the ground?electrochrisso wrote:Sorry to hear about your dilemma Chris, but look on the bright side, its a good thing you didn't get married and the new guy might well have to keep looking over his shoulder.![]()

I think that must be why she is so faithful. If your new girl is so faithful, why have you chained her to the ground?

No really a goat getting into the wrong part of mine, or even worse someone else's, garden can cause a lot of damage very quickly, the chain is actually about 40 foot long so she still has plenty of room to move.

When you will have better (huge) money in the future, she will come to see you to say "i'm back honey", just reply : "who are you ?"

Re: ProGUI V1.30! User Interface Library (Major Update 1!)
Thanks for the kind words of support guys, I'm feeling a bit better now - just needed a few days to sort myself out.
lol @ electrochrisso's new girl!
Zach: mate, could you let me take a look at your project please so I can see where any optimizations are needed in ProGUI. Hopefully it's just because of the extra command I left in there by accident which makes ProGUI twice as slow (this will be considerably noticeable if you're running low on memory/video memory as there will be a lot of swapping from the HD). I've checked the new build with all the examples and the speed difference with V1.30 is definitely a lot slower.
Hopefully you'll all be pleased to know that a new visual designer has been planned for a while (as Poshu knows
) and will be coming! so that's a bit of good news anyway
The visual designer will of course use ProGUI for the UI so it will be fairly quick to develop too
Chris.

Re: ProGUI V1.30! User Interface Library (Major Update 1!)
Chris, I have fired off an e-mail to you (the email PGUI emails come from), with a 5kb 7zip file containing my project directory. I included notes as well.
Hope it helps..
I opted not to use a ComboBox after all as I didn't need it for the task I am looking at using it for at the time. But it definitely was responsible for even more major slowdown than what usually has been the case. So I hope its not something completely different from the leftover code.. You'll have to add a Combobox back to the page to test that, obviously.

Yep, it's what you are describing, and it's my only symptom of any slowdown (even of my atom D525 based HTPC). So I'm going to give you a little tip: HideWindow(#Window, #True) can do some magic if you don't want user to see your window beeing destroyedZachWhat wrote: do you mean by "interface leftover" ? it sounds like what I may be trying to describe.

Damn you're a tough one! My last broke up left me inactive for 6 months =_=; Good luck though.PrincieD wrote:Thanks for the kind words of support guys, I'm feeling a bit better now - just needed a few days to sort myself out.

And I might have something related to show in the next few weeks :3Hopefully you'll all be pleased to know that a new visual designer has been planned for a while (as Poshu knows )
