I just downloaded the PB demo version for Linux, and I have installed it... but now, I don't know how to launch the editor
Is there an editor for linux also, and if yes, what do I have to type in a console to launch it ??
Thanks for your help : I have downloaded and installed the editor (I read and write German, so it's ok )
My question is now a real newbie-question in Linux : the Editor is here, installed... how can I launch it ?
Should I type in something in the console, should I doubleclick something, if yes what...
I use Mandrake 9.1 with KDE... I have tried to type in what you wrote in a konsole, but it didn't work...
But I have contacted Ralf, and he replied me he will give me further instruction tommorrow : I can let you know tommorrow when I get his information if you want
to get in touch with Purebaic and linux it is absolutly necessarily to learn the fundamentals of linux.linux is not windows.
I made the same mistake(s) a year ago.
things like 'root', rights and 'su' are fundamentals to handle linux .
there are several coding-editors available, you just have to configure then.
it is nice how to start and kill programm, copy files and change directorys.
A good start is always mc (Midnightcommander) or KDE's Krusader to do things easier as fingercrossing in the console.I prefer those filecommanders, coz they can copy, edit and start Programms .all you need to develope with purebasic.
