Ok, so you will use Imprints...
"Imprints & more" ....so there`s room for more and it`s not trashy...e.g. magic is a little trashy...

I like the "True Color Imprints" out of the three.

That's true. However, such a list is subject to selection bias.

Imagine 100 people are founding a company, and each company is named after the respective owner. Then there'll be companies with names such as say
  • Smith
  • Johnson
  • Hilton
  • Meyrs
  • Brown
  • Ferrari
  • Hilfiger
  • Adams
  • Taylor
  • ...
If, after some time, some of these names are widely known, of course we can say "they did it". But what about the rest? Several of these companies probably will not have done it, and as a matter of course, their names are not widely known. And we do not know the percentage of companies that "did it".

Also, concerning the companies that did it, we do not know whether they did it because of their name, despite their name, or more or less independently from their name.

by "they did it", I think marco meant there are a number of companies that used a person's name as the brand for their company, regardless of their level of success... I don't think he was implying that a company's success cound be determined by their name

According to my dictionary, e.g. "I did it!" can mean "I was successful in doing something."
That's what I had in mind when I wrote my previous post, but maybe I misinterpreted Marco's words.

Yes, like Citystate said. I meant: They did use their names.
I just heard "My way" that day on the radio, maybe that`s why I used those words :D

Expresssive Imprints
Screen Print Magic
True Color Imprints
IMHO all names above are no good.
Why?

Because 2 of them have 3 words; it's too long to remember (maybe "Screen Print Magic" could work because all 3 words are short...)
The first one has the right amount of words but the first is too long, so if customers want to refer you to a friend they think:
What was the name again... Excessive Ink... Excessive Prints... Impressive Prints... Impressive Ink...
What you need are 2 short words that fit well together like the one food chain I really like to eat pizza: Pizza Schmizza (and their web page is simply http://www.schmizza.com).
So if a customer wants to refer his pizza place to a friend he thinks of PIZZA and recalls SCHMIZZA - yeah PIZZA SCHMIZZA!

Personally I think it's ingenious.

Now to your possible choice of words:
Screenie Printie (or Printy ?)
Screenie Doggie
Inkie Doggie
Printy Doggie
something like that...

You could also steal Fred's idea and call your place:
Pure Print

In the end what ever you choose you have to live with your decision for a long time to come.

In any case I wish you the best...

Take care

If you are going to take over the business why can't you take the name too... That way your customer base would know it is you! 8)

As I mentioned before, using the current business name has legal issues as well as damage control issues. After talking to my accountant, I may be able to deal with both issues.

If my boss and her attorney agree to my using the current business name as my DBA name, then issue #1 is handled. The reason I can't use the current incorporated name is because this is an asset only purchase rather than a stock purchase. The current business must reamin active on the books until I have made my final payment on the assets (approx. one year from now). Using a DBA of the current business/corporate name without the Inc. suffix is the solution. As for the damage control, it will take some time and creative marketing, but in the end it could be more beneficial than a complete name change.

So now, assuming I can use the DBA name, I still need a new corporate name as my registered legal entity.

Thankis Rook, but Batman, Inc. is shorter, easier to remember, and easier to spell. :P

This option also allows me to wear my batsuit 24/7.

I have always wondered how Batman handled emergency bathroom runs... like after eating 4 xtra spicy Diablo Burritos with pickled Jalapeños and extra cheese...

Whatever you decide are you gonna go the INC route or the LLC route... I used the LLC route for my software company. "LIMITED Liability" was my keyword!
