Embedding Blitz3D and about the new OGRE for PB

Post by byo »

Hi, guys.

I saw some demos of Purebasic using the Blitz3D SDK and I thought they were very smooth and easy to program. I'm a Blitz3D registered user and I'm thinking about purchasing it. Sure, the new OGRE implementation is close to happening in Purebasic and from what I saw in the OGRE3D site, the games made with it are really professional.

So here goes two questions on one post:

1) Does anyone know if the Blitz3D SDK can be embedded in a regular window using Purebasic and if has anyone found any problems using it this way?

2) About OGRE for PB: Maybe I missed it before but will the OGRE API be available in Purebasic? The API is huge and has support for many things which are cool for game programmers.

Thank in advance to any game programmer who can answer that. 8)

I have the Blitz3d sdk and can say that it does indeed embed into a normal PB window and although I didn't use it much it didn't seem to cause any problems apart from the bugs that have been reported on the blitz site.

That does it. I'm buying it since I love the Blitz language.
And I was very impressed with this game:

This game was made with Blitz3D + Tokamak.
Play the demo to see how powerful Blitz3D is.

Thanks, Derek.
