*Idea* PureBasic IRC

Post by codemaniac »

With Java interface? http://www.pjirc.com/main.php

The #purebasic channel is on irc.freenode.net, but lots of people especially Mac/Linux folks might find it hard to set up a good IRC client, and some people prefer not to install one, so if it would be possible, could there be a Java interface for #purebasic (and #purebasic.de)?

Many websites that I visit have PJIRC installed and it is really cool to simply click on a link and you're in the chat.. no X-Chat or mIRC and zero knowledge needed (ofcourse it is handy to know some IRC commands too...)

What do you think? Fred, freak?

pjirc is pretty good, I set it up for a game company that use it on their website for those that do not have a IRC client etc.
Easy to setup, some more advanced options available etc.
I think it's a good idea, especially since it's free.

Yes, perhaps put a link on the forums for IRC chat too.. that would also make the popularity of #purebasic grow and probably we can have some more helping hands over there.

Fred & Team: What do you say? I think this is a great idea especially if you are elsewhere than your PC and want to chat about PureBasic.

I'd use a web-based IRC chat. I stopped visiting the PureBasic room when
my mIRC trial ran out, and I've never been back since for the very reason
that I don't want to install something to do it. So web-based is a good idea,
and linking to it from PureBasic.com would be a good idea for newbies.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).
