On each system there are different combinations of DirectShow filters installed and registered with different merits.

After install or uninstall of any video related application, the configuration may be changed seriously.

The PB movie features doesn't build a filter graph. This is done by DShow and depends from the registered filters and its merits.

Use any program that is able to configure the DShow filter landscape and push VMR9 to be the default renderer. This may cure the mentioned problems.

> I have a different driver, but the same PureBasic, and then it works

Hmm, so now we have three scenarios:

(1) Codefire has problems with PureBasic and movies on his PC.
(2) All apps except PureBasic play movies okay on my PC.
(3) All apps including PureBasic play movies okay on your PC.

What can we do, then? Probably nothing. I'll download the latest nVidia drivers
to see if that helps, and let you know. But can't this be related to the version
of Windows Media Player installed? I only recently (last few weeks) installed
Media Player 11, and don't recall this bug happening ALL the time before then.
So, for the record, what video card do you have, and which version of Media
Player (even if you don't use it)? Thanks.

[Edit] Installed the latest nVidia drivers, but it didn't help. Oh well.
I compile using 5.31 (x86) on Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit).

I think it's a PB issue - for what ever the reason.
For me a it's a real pity because it was one of the reasons I purchased PB in the first place and it's never been resolved after all these years. I'm using something else for our video playback tool that's OK but would rather use PB.
The old saying goes - "the squeakiest wheel get the most oil". Obviously the video wheel isn't making enough noise yet to get fixed.
